Description
The optional 4U hotswap touchbars are effectively 5 keys: swipe up/down plus 3 "buttons". Swipe input is great for scrolling, volume or other inputs where a key is pressed several times. The touchbars require no soldering (hotswappable) and use the MKI2C protocol.
MKI2C is an open-source standard for hotswap i2c, 3.3v modules on compatible keyboards.
Thus, the module can be installed to the keyboard using screws and without soldering.
The touchbar modules take up 4 keys, and provide 3 QMK-programmable touch buttons – with swipe up/down input for 5 total commands.
Fully programmable through QMK, although probably not in the online configurator for a while.
